Nah, thats the cool thing, they don't effect the wave at all. Nothing does. LOL. Its huge!

As the wave lowers the water level, the flow from powerheads on the low side, break the surface (ripple) and then when it goes back up, they don't break the surface at all. Kind of cool. But the wave box doesn't effect them at all and they don't effect the wave box.

The wave is actually MUCh bigger on this bigger tank than my older, smaller tank. It seems like maybe it just has much more time to "ramp" up and really gain energy. From what I have heard, these waveboxes work even better on an 8' tank!

Looked smaller than 1" from the pictures, but you should be good with 1".

That is some awesome wave action, are you getting a lot of noise from the waves cresting into the overflow?

I think it may actually be 3/4" inside diameter though. Either way, I am happy with it.

No sound at all. Doesn't effect the overflow.

Thanks! I will try. Hopefully things will grow in nicely.

I don't want too much more in the way of sps at all. Just want to replace what I lost. And add a tabling acro or two.

Then I want to add some more gorgonians and softies. Probably most Zoos. Also some LPS if I can afford it! I tend to only like the Aussie LPS which is always soooo expensive.

For fish, I don't know yet. I have always wanted a Sailfin Tang but feel the tank is a little small for one. I HAVE to try a Kole tang since that is one of the few fish my fiance has requested. Might start to get kind of crowded tang wise

I have a Hawkfish on the way too I think.

Right now I have...

Naso Tang
Hippo Tang
Yellow Tang
Blue Spotted Rabbit
Harlequin Tusk
Copperband
Cleaner Wrasse
8 Chromis (3 months or so and only one death!)
Scissor Goby (not so lucky here...most died)
Orange Spot Goby
Blue Damsel
Fang Blenny (such a wicked fish!)
Pair of clowns

Adding:

Kole Tang
Hawkfish

Want to add but most likely no room:

Blue throat Trigger
Sailfin

We'll see...

Just added up what this system has cost between new purchases, old equipment cost (when I bought it) and livestock...
