Shimek who is an expert on marine inverts writes
1. Unsuitable for reef aquariums
2. Their husbandry should not be attempted.
3. Short Lifespan
4. Require cooler water and reefs lights blind them.

WTF is Gold's going importing them?

Like Naesco said, they need cold water and low light as they are a deepwater species.

They had two, one is already sold for $80 each They have to be the most incredible looking creatures there are, but I know I cannot provide them with their basic needs. They seem pretty complex and hard to keep just by looking at them.

My buddy is also extremely interested in keeping a couple of Nautilus. They have a couple of them at the Oregon Aquarium and yes there is definitely not very much movement... but when they do move.. absolutely awesome!!

I'm prepared to be wrong here, but in addition to them not being suitable for most tanks I was under the impression they were Red Listed...
