there's always the $10-20 eBay bulbs.

Personally only used the Hamilton 14K (loved the colour but 2 bulbs only lasted a month each) and Ushio 14K (find rather yellow but can't complain about the growth).

I like them, but to me the aquaconnects look a little crisper and brighter.
