![]() My line of AIO suffers from this problem. The issue is the overflow not working correctly, water leaves the tank from just under the surface instead of overflowing at the surface. I do not know what overflow you have but take a look at this thread on nano-reef.com and this simple mod solves that surface scum issue in a jiffy.

![]() I don't have a sump, so I am working on the surface agitation theory and have moved the filter intake close to the surface. I will also look into some sort of attachment when I get a skimmer. Thanks!

![]() Temporarily you can lay a paper towel on the water surface and quickly remove it, to suck up the scum.
