Nova Exteme Lighting_noise

Hi,
I just installed a Nova Extreme T5 HO system to replace my Coralife light. The fans on the Coralife were noisy (acording to wife) and was under the impression that the Nova Extreme were quieter, but my wife says they are just a higher pitched noise. Is ther any way to quiet the fan? Do I need the Fan at all?

dont know about quieting it down but imo if you want to get a long life expectancy out of the ballast then yes you do need the fans
