![]() Hey everyone, I'd like to try building some stuff myself out of acrylic and I'd like to know where everyone gets their acrylic supplies. I'd need sheet, some tube, and acrylic solvent. Any ideas about ordering and having stuff like that shipped?

![]() Bump for interests sake, I may end up having to order sheets from Ontario... Which really sucks, anyone know where I can get acrylic sheet and tube in Manitoba or Saskatchewan?
http://www.polyzone.com/ And acrylic is bonded with Methyl chloride, right?

![]() I'm sure sphelps could tell you where to find plastics in MB/SK
Out west here in BC I buy my materials from Industrial Plastics & Paints http://www.ippnet.com/ Methyl chloride is used for solvent welding joints. More commonly people know it under the brand name Weld-on; but Weldon comes in different consistencies to weld uneven joints and different applications. (Weld-on = methyl chloride + acrylic chips)

![]() Nice thing about going with a plastic shop is that most can cut the acrylic for you and then ship it. As for tube it's harder to find but keep phoning around, out here my experience is that you can't buy tube pre cut you have to buy the length.

![]() I used to play around with acrylics back in the 80's so my memory might be off but for solvent I used methylene chloride which is also known as dichloro methane. At that time I worked at a lab so I always had it handy. For uneven joints I used to take the cuttings from my jigsaw (the powdered acrylic) and disolve it in a small bottle of solvent, the more you add the thicker the solution. It also dries completely clear, no need to purchase glues of varying consistency, just make your own
