Exclamation Balling method calculation

BALLING METHOD CALCULATION

http://shop.faunamarin.de/media/cont...ethode_eng.pdf

Here you can determine your systems draw based on averages or starting the balling light method

HI Michael

You forget one very important thing

With Calciumreactors you can add ( depending of the Material which you use ) a lot of Po4 and H2Co3 in your system.
The Ph Level will going down and this brings Po4 back in solution.
Blling light will work as an PH Puffer and will stabilize the PH against and Calcium reactor
this will bring more stabilitiy in your tank
If you add the Trace Elements which are developed for grow and coloration
you will add the Trace element in the right ammount how the corals grow and not more or to much.
Here you can see some tanks which use the Balling light system several years

Yes i forgot about the stability of pH using balling great point. Balling of course keeps pH very stable and of course you are not running the risk of PO4 deposits

Fantastic photos absolutely stunning

I would like to see that link as well. This is something I am very interested in since I do not want to use a Calcium Reactor. Look forward to the new link!

Thanks.

Im sure I could get this info from reading a bit more but I will ask anyways....

Do I need to use the ProfiLux conroller to use the GHL 3 pump stand alone dosing station?

The reason I ask, is because I do not want to have to change my controller right now. Although if I could go back I would have bought a Profilux instead of Neptune The ones I have seen people using are awesome!

I am still just trying to get my head around the Balling method but I really like the concept.

EDIT: Ok, read some more Certainly something I want to do and it looks like the dosing pump has a built in controller?

I LOVE how easy this makes things...I can see why this method is so popular in Europe. I was about to buy a Ca reactor and I am now very glad I did not.

What is the difference between Balling and Randy Holmes-Farley's two-part (or more accurately, three-part with Mg) dosing scheme?

Hi

No you do not need a profiLux aquatic computer to run the dosing pumps, the stand alone doser has a built in controller that runs the show for you.

In regards to two part etc, this is a question we get a lot and very complex

Two part is just that it does not have all the elements that make up the balling system, the main one Claude informs me is stability and avoiding ionic imbalances.

Using the Fauna salts you are guarranteed the exact trace elements to avoid all negative situations, most of these come from people using low grade salts trying to save a few bucks, there are plenty of what we call DIY salts on the market that have chemicals such as Bromide in them, ice melting salts come to mind

When two part first came out there was a great deal of difference in balling and two part but if you now look at the recipes you will see they have evolved into what the balling system generally offers, many now also employing the magnesium elements. So depending on where you read, NO you may not see much difference. What is different however is in the quality of salt supplied by Fauna Marin and the extra trace elements embedded in the fauna Salts and the guarrantee of purity everytime.

So to recap, two part used to be different but now looking at the evolution of their system it is remarkably similar .
