![]() Hi, I am just starting out with marine tanks with some soft corals. I do not have a timer for the lights yet but I intend to get one. Yesterday I forgot to turn the lights on. Question: when I got home last night and realized my mistake would it have been better to turn the light on for a few hours at night or just go back to the right cycle the next day? thanks.

![]() Just go back to your regular cycle. It will not hurt anything at all to not have light for a day.

You should be able to pick up a nice timer on sale this time of year. I got a good digital one from totem. Stay away from those timer powerbars though IMO. |

![]() Think of it as an "overcast" day. Two days a week, my halides do not come on. Just actinics. Thus simulating an "overcast", aka cloudy, day.
Cheers,
