![]() Very nice did you silicone the rocks on? Did you cut them flat on the back first?
Really love the wall with sand behind it.

![]() Sorry we have been very bsy with work and had to put the tank on the back burner for a bit. We still need to get the pump and skimmer, as well as the salt. I am putting pictures up on the sump room below the tank shortly. My husband is happy that someone is enjoying his build. He sure has worked hard on it, but enjoyed it a whole bunch.

![]() Thanks for all the replies everyone. One of the plans is for the stand to be clad in stone. We know a stone mason, so when we are ready he will do it for us, since we are doing his tile soon. The stone was cut on a tile saw, and yes they were cut flat and siliconed to the travertine...
I will be updating the flicker photo page shortly with some more pictures. There is water in tank but it is not full yet. We are hoping to have it done for Christmas. I just noticed I do not have any pictures of the tank with water in it. I will add them later when the water clears ups a little bit. Last edited by my2rotties; 11-08-2008 at 05:25 PM. ![]() Tank is looking good, I enjoy checking out your tank build tread, and can't wait to see the tank with fish and coral in there.

![]() Now I have to go rent that movie, LOL! I have a few snails in there and a hermit crab. Have not seen them since I put them in there. There are a few soft corals in there now, but the seven foot wide tank just eats everything up. I wonder how long it will take to stock the thing, but that's the whole fun ofit, aside of the cash you have to drop. I still have not gotten used to it. We're putting the stuff in so the coraline algae grows and the pod popuation blossems. I already can't wait for the sump and refugium to be done in the basement so I can have my Mantis shrimp I have been dying for. The 55g tank that the fish are in now will be the refugum in the very near future.
Next up is the wave maker thing to mimick the ocean, protein skimmr and big huge pump for the system. I am still on the fence about upgrading the lights but the MH do add that special shimmer. Oh and more live rock, I hate buying that stuff, prime cuts of meat cost less then rock, imagine that... Last edited by my2rotties; 11-11-2008 at 07:53 PM. Reason: I'm a dummy |

![]() make sure you hit up local people for frags and nice colonies of coral.
You will save a tonne of cash that way and 9/10 times receive a healthier specimen than at a lfs. |

![]() Great mind think alike... When I have bought things from members, the info and knowledge far surpasses what money can buy at a LFS. You meet awesome people and get the best ideas and make friends as well.

![]() Hey,
I was just looking at your pictures and a thought occured to me about the windows on the sides of the tank. How much sun do you get from them? I know that in the summer (Okanagan) I get quite the build up of algae on my tank. I never close my blinds. But in the winter it goes away. Looks really great, are you putting fish in? ________ herbal vaporizers Last edited by Leah; 01-20-2011 at 10:54 AM. |
