I really love the idea of the "canyon" in this - I think I'm going to try it with the 120, once I switch over.
Really only works in that tank becuz of the dimensions..

Well I knowI'll NEVER get that kind of depth but this is what I'd like, two piles sort of staggered (It's 2 fee of depth) Don't mind the bad MS Paint diagram, I didn't feel like going to my computer and using Photoshop

Keri I really like your prop0sed layout.
Perhaps I will try to build some caves and overhangs on either side but also leave a large space in the middle for the fish.
I now have approx 170 lbs of 4 different kinds of live rock to work with.
Im away working so I havn't seen how full the tank is with all of it in but I am almost certain it will be too much.
By having 4 different sources of liverock in the tank will I have a good biodiversity of little critters?
Is 4 enough or should I look to trade for additional sources?

I did the canyon thing on mine and a couple of caves as well. Not quite Oregon Reef style but I only had 24 inches of depth to work with. I still ended up reworking it a few times to get it right but thats what the hobbys all about.
The fish like it as there are plenty of places to hide and sleep. The other plus is good water movement throughout.

Would anyone happen to have any insight into this question?
Thanks

I would think 4 would be fine. Most tanks start out with just 1 or 2.
