Hey, a question about the Aiptasia product. Noticed that you have to mix the powder. Do you do all at once and let it sit between periods that you need it? Or just mix enough to do the treatment you need at the time? Seems to me it must lose potency or viability if not used for some time, otherwise it would be sold as a liquid and not a powder... Or so you'd think.

I just started the Nitrate destroyer last week. Not all my tanks need it but some do. I had been using Reef-resh for a while and was happy with the results until it started getting insanely hard to replace. Anyhow it's nice to hear that everyone who's tried it is happy with it, and it's cheaper to boot.

Sarah your tank looks great.

Yeah..that would be the only drawback to the Aiptasia product...you mix it and have to use it quickly.....it says for only 30 days after powder is mixed. But I will see...if I had been thinking I would have measured out what I had...mixed it in a smaller volume and stored the rest...but I wanted to KILL them now...not wait...I don't wait well!

Thanks Tony for the compliment....it is looking good!

It's a Monti cap...came free with my LR many moons ago....have a big huge one at the top of the tank that was not supposed to be there...I keep cutting it off and putting it in the sump...until I got my new lights it was just a chocolate brown cap with blue polyps...now it is a purple with blue polyps...it's kind of pretty now, makes me feel bad about how much I chopped off....I acutally scrapped all of it off once.....when I had the Monti eating Nudi's and several months later...it sprouted back!

OK, Now I can see it.
I think I'll try some of the Aiptasia remover next time I put in an order to O/A. Lemon juice isn't doing the trick.

Hey Delphinus,
The Aiptasia Destroyer has a shelf life about 30 days after mixed which gives you a 30 day window to rid your system of aiptasia. If the product is mixed and over 30 days old it will still work but you wont have quite the same punch as it does when first mixed.
Thanks for the question,
Brad
