![]() all clams can be kept on the sand, only crocea's actually prefer ( or were engineered to be on rock ) the rock work but you can always put a small flat rock underneath the clam on the sand. maxima's like a good deal of light and being 24" down under 1 55W 10K might not be enough.
is there nowhere you could place the calm on the rocks? there are several lower lighting clams that are nice too, are you set on a maxima? just so i'm not totally taking this thread off course, here are a few pics of some of the clam i have / had currently and over the years. sorry for the load times..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
