![]() know there's some gorgeous tank here but for some reason, colours aside, I'm really liking full but yet openness of the latest TOTM on RC

![]() That is a nice looking tank. I to like the open look as well, it gives it a Micro tank look with a massive coral display. If you know what I mean

![]() Yes...the interesting aspects to me were...
...use of Zeospur outside of the full Zeovit system ...All T5 lighting

![]() What actually caught my eye was that he says he has a 5" sand bed. You don't see too much of that anymore. I actually want to go BB in my next tank just so I don't have to worry about sand blowing around but man I love the look of sand. It doesn't look anywhere near 5" in the pictures..

I don't think there's a trick, it's just a big honkin' fixture he's using: 10x80W ATI Powermodule. That's 800W from the best T5 fixture out there. |

![]() I was curious if the 220 volt makes any difference at all.Thats a bit more juice to start with so I wondered if the lights are any brighter to begin with.If not I think Ill be going with T5's ASAP.Clint

![]() Not really, 220V doesn't really make a huge impact. A watt is a watt (roughly: watts = voltage * amps; so the amp draw is half that of 110V but the same wattage is consumed).
That is a serious light fixture he's got there. Watt for watt that's the same as 2x400's, just over 10 lamps. Assuming an average price of $25ish per lamp (which might be a bit optimistic, I'm not sure) that's still a lamp changeout price of $250. But he does say he noticed his heat emission went down after switching from halides, that's big plus ![]()
