Man, I'm really developing a liking for gigas clams. Nice stuff!

Anyhow, no gigas for me yet, but did pick up a handful of squamosa's the last few weeks (Michika - am I catching up to you yet? I think I count 13 now ). I really like the squamosa's with blue .. found one with a little, and a couple babies - one of which has some blue potential, should it grow out.

where does everyone place the clams?

can i put it on the bottom as long as it is fully exposed to the light?

all clams can be kept on the sand, only crocea's actually prefer ( or were engineered to be on rock ) the rock work but you can always put a small flat rock underneath the clam on the sand. maxima's like a good deal of light and being 24" down under 1 55W 10K might not be enough.

is there nowhere you could place the calm on the rocks?

there are several lower lighting clams that are nice too, are you set on a maxima?
