It is a sponge

Here is what melevs site says about it:

This is a harmless Scypha sponge. They are very small, and usually found in our overflow boxes and down in the sump. Attached to rock, glass or acrylic or even your plumbing, they may be about the size of a grain of rice or perhaps larger, like Debi's above. These little filter-feeders are reef-safe.

Harmless, which is a good thing I've got hundreds of them in my sump.

Default getting rid of aiptesia

Wondering if you soak you live rock in fresh water if that would kill all the aiptesia. I just bought some rock and have a little bugger on it new tank so i think I will get rid of this problem first

An atomic blast can't kill these things.
