J+L has a product called "medic". I can't remember all it was supposed to cure but it may be worth some investigation...It is reef safe as well.

I found some info on this. Apparently it is quite natural on males.

Read the notes section on this page:http://en.microcosmaquariumexplorer....ki/Bird_Wrasse

BigA - Thanks for the info. Now I was able to find some more info about it. However, it seems like there is no treatment for this condition. I doesn't seem to disturb the fish too much in term of eating, however he became less active lately. It is a beautiful fish. Too bad he had to get this lumpy nose thingy.

Has any one else encoutered this? Did you manage to treat it somehow?

Dsaundry - what is that medication against? I don't like giving medication to my fish in general..and here I don't even know the name of this "disease"...Not the best idea to throw in meds

"medic" is for treating parasitic infections and infestations. I haven't used it in a long time but I am pretty sure thats what it was for. It sounds like it may not be a parasite though..

I have nothing to add except that I would have voted for these pictures for the May POTM, hands down winner.
