Lawnmower blennies are great fish for personality - mine was a hoot when I had him.

The only thing is filamentous algae isn't really part of their natural diet. I think it's unusual (maybe impossible, don't know) to get one that eats hair algae. Mostly what they're after is that thin film of algae over hard substrate. You'll see little kiss marks all over your glass where they've scraped it clean.

Ocean City has been getting a few in every week for the past, um.. probably 4 months. I saw 2 of them there this afternoon, great size. I also picked up 3 for myself from them a few months ago for each of my aquariums.

my tank is only 24 gallons - do you think thats large enough to keep one healthy long term?
What fish eats hair algea?

bicolour blenny stays a bit smaller and still eats alot of algae and at least thier not as ugly
