What do you dose/ test?

I am only dosing kalk for top up water and testing Ca. I am starting to test alk., maybe start dosing a buffer soon.

What is everyone else doing?

Kalk and buffer till my Ca reactor is fixed. then it will be the reactor n kalk. I test for Ca and Alk.. Ph monitor runs as well as temp..

well i dose kalk 24/7, and have turbocalcium and superbuffer on hand, havent used them in over a month tho.

and i keep track of temp, salinity, pH, Ca and Alk.

darren, how come you are dosing kalk while your reactor is running? just curious. shane

Hello,

I just run my Ca Reactor. I don't see really any difference by dosing the other stuff.

I test for phosphate, silicate, nitrate, calcium, alk, temp, and pH. I usually do the last four though.

Even with 12/12 lighting tank/sump I get Ph swings. Kalk keeps this to a minimum.. The Kalk also helps precipitate phosphates.

Ive only tested during initial set-up and tweaking...since then i havent tested for anything,unless i see something wrong like corals shrunk..foggy water ect.
