 I have used Fluval filters for 3 years. I Love them. (the newer style anyway) I find them really easy, never any problems with the priming, just make sure they are full to the top before putting on the lid, when you restart, plug em in and give them a minute, pump the primer a couple times if you have to. Always start....... no noise, run quiet, I'll shut up now. :P
