![]() I've always noticed a chemical smell after carpets get cleaned....thats the only reason i suggested turning off the skimmer.

![]() some critters are lethally sensitive to chemical solvents. especially organic ones. mantis shrimp (which are usually bulletproof as fas as hardiness goes) for example can kick the bucket if the stuff is just used in the same room as their tank. couldnt tell ya specifically what will die but just so you know, there is a gradient as to what will die first for any given exposure.
