Carpenter's Wrasse

I just bought a Carpenter's Wrasse and all he's done is hide, Is this normal?

My Carpenter's is out all the time. It is the bully of my tank and chases my chalk bass during feedings.

Do you have any fish that would be scaring it? It might start coming out more once it gets comfortable.

the only other fish in there is a pair of ocellariss clowns

They're a bit timid until they settle in. Give him a week or so and once he feels more comfortable likely you'll see him all the time
