Default Advice on Skimmer purchase

I will be looking at getting a new skimmer for my 60G tank with 30 G sump. Currently I have a SuperSkimmer 125 and it don't do so good. Does anyone have any recommondations? I am on a tight budget so please go easy on me.

Look for a used Euroreef or one of the newer Tunze skimmers (which are hard to find used - but that should tell you something in and of itself)

Keep an eye out for a used Euro Reef RS100. Not sure what a used one is going for...

I have made a mistake. I went looking at the specs today and mine is only rated for 65 G not 125......... Could be part of the problem.

I don't mean to hijack your post Glenn, but what do some of the more experienced keepers in here think about Coralife Super Skimmers?

You get what you pay for. It's not a bad entry level skimmer but when you upgrade you will see a big difference. I upgraded to a Euroreef a while back and regret ever wasting my money on the CSS. Right now though I almost regret getting the euroreef as I want to upgrade to a bubble king.

i just bought a brand new one from J&L for 299$. i cannot WAIT to get this thing set up. ive set it up three times just to look at it (and it looks friggin saweeet!)

i was going to go for a tunze, but the thing was the same price as the Euro-reef, and while the tunzes are great for smaller tanks, i was told that they arent so great for larger tanks. so i spent the extra 4$ and got the Euro-reef RS100 (and then had to sneak my new gear past my girlfriend when i came home.)

her:"what's that?"
me:"oh...nothing..."
H:"really?...ive heard you say that before."
M:"yeah i know...but seriously...it's nothing."
H:"oh yeah?"
M:"yeah...it's just plastic...dont worry about it."
