Default 801 Powerhead

hey kris, (no the other one) thanx for the tip on putting in an 801 and 2 201's in my tank instead of just 2 201's. All I can say is what a difference! I'm using my other 201 in my make-up tank now, because it was way too much current, but my fish sure love this new powerhead! My next upgrade will be a power compact hood conversion. This hobby is starting to scare me it's so damn expensive!

I'm just getting into the hobby, and I bought a 33gallon tank off of a friend of mine. I have about a 5" substrate bed of aragonite reef sand, appx. 30 lbs. of live rock, 150 watt ebo jager heater, a 201 and an 802 powerhead, a cheap protein skimmer for now, two percula clowns, a flame angel, chocolate chip starfish, and assorted hermit crabs and snails.

I'm hoping to upgrade my lighting and skimmer soon, but have to save some cash for that!

If you have any avenues for a skimmer let me know, I'd appreciate it!

Call King Ed pets, they get used stuff in all the time and sell it for what they give for it. I've seen 90 gallon tanks come in there and go out 5 minutes later for $100, a 5ft long 108 just two weekends ago, $150, and a 77 with a stand for $125.... They have a DAS skimmer but you will need to build it into a sump to get it to work but they will sell it for $50 and that has the motor on it... it won't work in a regular sump, it is an odd ball thing but seems to work, I bought the sump/skimmer regular $599 for $200, and thats below cost.
