Thanks for the help guys! I pulled most of it out after everyones advice. I actually learned the hard way: tried to grow it in preparation for use in a fuge as well but fore some reason a bunch of them vaporized and I lost 4 fish and an anemone.

these caleurpas release toxins when they vapourize or go into assexual reproduction which may be why your fish died. I grow all my algaes in a fuge.
