![]() i finally had to refill my calcium reactor after a year and a half and still one of the chambers was half filled.. i could not resist another harem of anthias today. i dont know their exact name yet but i will find it, i got a male and 3 females and they are eating like pigs already. one is still hiding though. there was another frag that was calling my name so grabbed it too

![]() From the pictures they look like Threadfin Anthias (http://fishbase.org/Summary/speciesS...name=carberryi ), particularly because the yellow on the dorsal doesn't start to appear until behind the eye. Click on the fish picture for more images. My second guess would be Bartlet's Anthias, but the yellow starts from the mouth and goes right from the tail. (http://fishbase.org/Summary/speciesS...e=bartlettorum ) Some of the fish seem to have the yellow starting from their noses, and one from behind its eye. Either way a nice harem!
Your SPS are just beautiful. Do you find you get more of one color under you lighting? E.g. more pieces turn blue/purple? |

![]() thanks for the info catherine. still not sure if it is either of them.
its one of my favs too jason. and there is a good story behind that, it was a big wild colony about 7" across and during the dino outbreak it stripped out over night on me. i was really choked but i was able to clip 3 or 4 tips to try and save it. within 2 days they rtn'd as well. about a week or so later once the dinos were gone i was doing a big tank cleanup and pulled out a bunch of halimeda and in the bunch was this chunk that i fragged and it must have fallen down and i never noticed. it struggled for 2 weeks and finally recovered and now its really starting to grow. i'm so glad because its a wicked tri-color plana. here it is before the death. its with my old camera and it didnt adjust well for color. its not this purple its more white base with purple and blue tips ![]() |
