Here's a link to my 140 G. build. I used eggcrate for towers and shelves. The eggcrate is holding up well and the paint is still sticking.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I'm thinking I may go with a combination of eggcrate and PVC pipe. I may also go ahead and paint them too, depending on the final look that i decide to go with.
