![]() Female is larger and typically darker Maroon colour. Male is smaller and more orange coloured.
Of course, these fish can change sex...so if you have two, the larger will become the female. In this case, the larger is alive and well at 3yrs, 9months.....the smaller at 1.5 years so far. Update: Over 4 years now for the larger female, and 2 years for the smaller male. This photo could have been taken yesterday as they still look exactly the same. They have laid eggs every 15-20 days for the past few years. Update - April, 2011: 6 years now for the female, 4 years for the smaller male. Still laying eggs like clockwork. ![]()
