The differnce between that and a gluelam beam was less than running a gas line for the outside BBQ. A beam of some sort had to go in at that spot anyway so it didnt change the cost much.

The first hole in my wifes new home. When she saw the keyhole saw she decided to take the dogs for a walk......

My little helpers trying to convince me to let them drill the holes through the floor.

The plumbing on the main floor complete. Very simple and I know I could have used clear glue but I didn't really care because this area when finished will seldom be seen by anyone but me.

Now heres the fun part....I had to run a temporary line to get the water to the tank. I ended up with about 30 ft of head and was using a QuietOne 9000 to do the job. Quietone...ya right. This has to be one of the noisiest pumps ever made.

I also had to add a wall in the area where the plumbing entered my fish room. After adding the wall I was able to continue the plumbing.

First water entered the tank Dec 18......

It took almost 2 weeks to make up the water. My 100 GPD ro/di puts out about 30 GPD. I need one of those booster pumps. Between water changes and top off it didn't seem like I was gaining much. But 140 Lbs of sand went in Dec 31.

While the sand was settling I was busy on the plumbing again. The small wall is in and here is more plumbing.

Here is the wife letting me know she is done waiting for me.....

Water is clear again.....

and here is the first rock.

I had to set up a temp light to keep the everyone happy.
