![]() Philips has put out a compact florescent light bulb (CFL) that is daylight and 40 watts. It has a color temp of 6500 K which would work fine for a small refugium as it would grow algae efficiently. It is actually very blue white looking.

![]() my current fixture is able to run 2 floresent bulbs @ 40watts each would 80 watts do it?

![]() I think you'll find that even with 80 watts, normal output florescents just won't cut it, both in how they look and in their ability to make corals grow.
