when i get them they dont start like this. most of the time they are bleaching or brown, i spend about half an hour staring down from the top at the piece and guessing ' will this be worth it'.

Well, yeah, that's true. But, I just gotta say .... It just feels like it's barely been a month since you were saying you had no colours in your tank and I was trying to encourage you to wait it out. I'm not going to believe you anymore if you ever complain about your tank!!!!
