Skimmate? Fresh or Salt Water?

When ones skimmer is running wet, let's say too wet, for a day and the skimmer cup fills up is it salt water or fresh?

I would stick my finger in and taste it but I thought I would try asking here first.

I am considering running my skimmer a little on the wetter side and am just wondering if it will affect my SG level draining it every day or so.

I think what he is thinking that the skimmate has skimmed the salt water out causing the crap to become fresh. why in the world would you want to taste it

Bingo! That is exactly what I was wondering. Thus, if you skim too wet you will have to adjust your salt levels much more frequently.
