Trilinearmipmap's rankings are really close to mine.
The zoo which is across the street from the aquarium is pretty good too. Sea Life Park is okay but will be a disapointment if you have been to Seaworld. It's pretty small. As a kid I got dragged to Polynesian Cultural Centre every year for 5 or so years so have nightmares about that place - Only go if you are into replica huts and dancing. I always enjoy the Byodo-In temple. Some nice Koi ponds there too. Paradise Park had a nice display of birds - I don't know if that park is still there or not. I was last in Hawaii in October to do Ironman Hawaii in Kona. Lots of sea turtles on the big island. At one point during the 4 km swim I had a pod of 8 - 10 dolphins swim under me. That was the highpoint of the race. ________ Suzuki RV90 Last edited by Brent F; 01-23-2011 at 07:29 PM. |

Ive been to hawaii almost every year for 8 years, and there are lots to do. There is some good snorkeling off waikiki but you have to go a ways out deffinitly a boat trip. If you take a trip on one of the catamerans on waikiki beach they will take you on a wiked trip and snorkeling with lots of turtles.

If you DO go to Hanauma Bay (and I highly recommend that you do)...... go for a hike. Leave the beach on your left side (facing the water) and hike around the point. Once around the point you can get to what is commonly referred to as "The Toilet Bowl". It's a huge crater in the rocks that has an underground water channel to it, and as the waves come in, the water in the Toilet Bowl goes from none to about 8 feet deep in seconds. I always thought it was pretty cool when I went.
PS - DEFINATELY hike Diamondhead. |

Your going at the wrong time for the pro bowl, but the right time to see the whales, and mantra rays. Have a great time.
