I have tonnes of bristles, they have never caused me any problems. They only seem to come out after a feeding to clean up what is left.

Wouldn't worry about the worm but great catch on the snails, you probably saved you clam.

For the snails, read a 6 Line Wrasse will help but now you know you have them, would be doing the occasional inspections.
