You could try gluing a cap on the end of pvc piping 2x the length of it's tube, filling it with sand and stuffing it in. It should stay put.

I have one and if you can bury it some how it is beautiful..our stands straight up and is awsome looking but yes it does prefer a sand bed and needs help getting itself buried.
