No it does not melt. but you have to be carefull. Preheat oven to 150. then put the flex in. every could of minutes check it. It does get very soft and pliable.
I needed to have it come from my overflow and then make a sharp "S" shape. It was impossible until I heated it. and it has worked perfectly.

Default heat it up

I agree with Jason...heat it up in the oven, and yes be careful not to leave it unattended..5-10 minutes at 150 should be fine.
