![]() I really like the look of the black sand. Hard to decide whether to switch to the black or go bare bottom. Anyways looks great.

![]() I also had black sand at one point, but larger sized granuals. I had sea chem's tidal sand I believe it was called. It looked cleaner overall then white sand, but I found that the larger size wasn't as attractive as say the sugar sand variety.

![]() I've got black in my 33Gal.
It look's great if you have the time to maintain it. Otherwise you end up with little white bits all over it.

![]() The other week I dropped my nimble cleaner into my black sand and it picked a bunch up-magnetic like. This must mean that there is iron in it. Is that going to pose any problems?
I dont have much in the tank at this moment, a couple snails, hermits, and sexy shrimp. I put some mushrooms and anthelia(sp) in and the mushrooms have been fine, but the anthelia hasnt flourished like it usually does. The lighting might be a bit strong... 70w 14k MH and 28w PC 50-50 for a 7G bowfront. Nate |
