I read the other day that it is like a big bee sting. Local swelling and hurts like heck.
You're supposed to put it in hot water right away to reduce the severity of it. It's not supposed to be fatal to humans but it doesn't mean you won't have an allergic reaction.
Although I would imagine that's pretty rare.
