Hmmm you could try cleaning them off one day and looking at the shells.. my two have vary different markings on the shell (that remaind visable even when they are all covered in sand) .. kinda like haveing twins.. any loving parent can tell them apart

I wonder if they disappear when they have no work to do? The reason I ask is because those glass beads seem to grow a lot of diatoms. So mine is out eating all the time. I now swap him between two tanks so he is really busy.

Actually they're identical twins. I can tell them apart by the fact that one of them is ugly.
