![]() I got some Caribsea Aragonite sand. It says to rinse it prior to putting it in the tank. Is it OK to rinse it with tap water, or do I have to use RO/DI water? If I rinse it with tap water and let the sand dry before putting it in, will phosphates and other contaminants remain in the sand?
Thanks. |

![]() I rinsed the same sand with tap water and it turned out just fine i also have a few sps in the tank and other corals and nothing seems to be wrong with them. IMO I think using RO/DI is just a waste of time because you have to wait for it to be filtered blah blah blah is just use tap water to rinse. It all up to you though.

![]() We rinse ours with tap water to get of all the crud. Let it drain well then a final rinse with ro/di water.
