Bras per say don't cause cancer themselves. Some of the reasons include that cutting off lymphatic circulation doesn't inspire cancer to randomly form. Cancer is mutations within a cell, or cells that eventually develops out of control. While cancer can be caused by many things, carinogens, free radicals, etc. it isn't caused by constriction.

The lymphatic system is used to flush toxins out of certain areas of the body; its like a second circulatory system, just that it flows primarily through passive means (valves, pressure from flexing muscles). If lymphatic circulation is impaired, toxins can and do build up in the tissues. And toxins are linked to cancer.
I'd like to see the paper that claims to disprove that study, rather than just a smug statement.

It was discussed at length in one of my anatomy classes. I don't know if I still have the original papers, but it was a collection of papers searched out from Pubmed, and other various medical databases.

I do however agree with you that toxics can build up. and the link between toxins and cancer.
