![]() Yes I will try some other strains as well, since they all have a different nutritional profile. I thought I would start with the nanochloropsis and see how that went first since it is the easiest to culture. I will post on here when I get more types going.

![]() Thanks Alan, The Iso ( live culture ) is proving to be hard to find in Canada.
Also, Do you have a source for S or SS Strain rotifers? Larry |

![]() Hi Allan,
Ian here, the phyto cultures look great, I highly suggest that anyone not wanting to waist there money on DT's, Vivid Reef, etc. try the Phyto that Allan is culturing, it is 2-3 times darker and healthier than the pre packaged stuff. :-) |

![]() Thanks Ian, if it wasn't for the culture you gave me I probably wouldn't have gotten into it. I have ordered some other cultures and some rotifer strainers as well, hopefully they will be in soon. I'm actually enjoying culturing the stuff even though it's one more added chore in the store. I will look into what other cultures of rotifers are available and report back here. I saw one type of phyto (can't remember what it was called) that was bright red, almost like red wine, I'm going to look into that one some more.-Alan

Larry, I will look into it and let you know what I find. You also might be interested in a new product we received from one of our coral suppliers. The divers drag a plankton net behind the boat and collect live zooplankton which is condensed from approximately 100 cubic meters of seawater into a 180 ml bottle. it is then frozen and arrives with our coral shipments. It's very interesting stuff. You can see many different critters when you pour it into the tank. Small fish devour it and I'm told that there is much microscopic zooplankton in there as well. it must be kept in the fridge after it's thawed and lasts about a week. Regards, Alan |

That copperband is yours. It is healthy as a horse and eating all kinds of food. It's nice to see that fish going to a tank where he will thrive. And the red monti frag isn't going anywhere so when you are ready I will snap a piece off. After all the frags you have given me, it's the least I can do! I will let you know when the other strains of phyto arrive, you might want to add another type to experiment with. P.S the rotifers are multiplying so fast I can't feed them all! Regards, Alan |

![]() Yes, I would be interested. I have had 4 failed attempts to get a culture started from Aqua Farm discs.

![]() I was going to suggest Aqua Farm as I had really good luck with their disks in the past. As for other places to get it, sorry I'm not sure.
