Had the same thing happen to me just recently. Almost all my really nice colonies were slowly disappearing and looked as though they well melting at times. One night/morning I found the trouble....a box snail (sundial), then another, and another........found six of them over a few days.
And now I cant sleep at 4 AM. I wake up to look for evil snails. Haven't found any in about 4 weeks but I haven't sleep through the night since the first one. Kind of like having a kid...... Scott
