thanks everybody, it is starting to come along. I saw pictures of the mother at its peak and this piece still has quite a ways to go yet

I swear...maybe it's just me but all closeups like this make me think they are wrapped in soft velvet..purple velvet...I love purple velvet but well...er different forum.

Now you let my secret out. I do wrap all the corals in velvet before a photograph.

Ahhh, I see now! Will other materials work, too? I have some cool "Finding Nemo" fabric that would look neat on my monti cap.
