![]() Alright, here's what you've all been waiting for; I'll start with the 250 Deluxe Ext.
![]() Sexy... Well, no, it's no Albert, but that's beyond the scope of this thread. ![]() Red Dragon pump. Look at the stats on that thing, 1500 lph @ 48 watts????! ![]() Detail of the calcium bypass. Not too sure how it works, but it prevents wear down on the pump caused by calcium precipitation. ![]() Bubble plate detail. These are used to reduce turbulence within the skimmer body, allowing for greater attachment of DOC's to bubble surfaces. ![]() Skimmer feed. ![]() Air silencer assembly. ![]() Air silencer removed. ![]() Check that out! CNC milled parts only! ![]() Even the freaking cap on the cup drain is hand lathed! What the crap! I was tempted to take the pump apart to look at the impeller, but couldn't find the damn screwdriver. Maybe tomorrow ![]()

![]() Next up, Mini 160:
![]() I really, really, really want to bring one of these home. It would retire the Elos in a heartbeat, and I don't say that lightly; the Elos sexified my sump handily. ![]() Standpipe/twist-lock water level adjustment. ![]() ?!?!?!?!??! 600 lph @ 18 watts - that's less than a Maxi-Jet 1200! ![]() Bubble plate. ![]() Easy lift cup. ![]() Silencer.

![]() Sure, if you're into top of the line stuff. The engineering, consruction quality and design on these things is top notch. Look at the air draw/wattage ratios; they blow everything, aside from the Sicce meshwheel pumps found on the BM's, out of the water and I'd bet they'd survive a short fall.
All aside, they definitely make many high end skimmers (Deltec's, Schuran's, Grotech's, Tunze Master DOC's, Euro Reef RC's and AquaMedic Turboflotor 5000's, etc) obsolete at their current price points. Edit: You make a lot of money in a week :P

![]() Darn, it's too bad you didn't have those 2 months ago, I would have bought the 300 ext. Oh well I'll just have to live with my Euroreef RC500.
