Marc - My bubble gum was doing nothing for 8 months, it just sat there soaking up the light but not really improving (color or growth). Then 4 months ago the tips started sprouting..it's now one of my fastest growers. The BG got potential to be a big show piece..it's gonna look spectacular in your big tank !!.

My hitchhiker coral which in the last month has taken off.

A frag from a purple colony which looks nothing like its parent.

Here`s the kind of hitchiker i get...

This thing was a tank, what he has tucked under his carapace there would shock you, i watched it at night snap off branches 1/4" thick and take them to his hideout for dinner.

I bet if i had of chucked it on the neighbor`s lawn it would have just bust through the window to my house and hopped back in !

Marc I have about 12 of those little turds in my cube tank. It took me a while to figure out why I suddenly couldn't keep corals anymore in there (they kept disappearing).

I'm totally hooched though. 30" deep tank, the only way to remove them all is remove the rock. And it's all one big coral bommie with a 24" anemone on top. Why's that a problem? Because anytime it's moved, it gets annoyed. And when it's annoyed, it kills an entire tankload of fish. So I have fish that need to be moved. At this point I think it would just be easier to just set up a new dang tank.

Isn't that about the same time you got your new lights?

Greg - That is true..perhaps better light penetration then before? I'm glad I didn't demote it to the back the tank.

sweet thread. im so jealous of pretty much all the pieces ive seen in here. well here's my current fave. a single head of Duncan i got from CLINT. it has coloured up really nicely with green and purple. recently the mouth and tentacle tips went a really nice yellow. seems happy even if it doesnt grow terribly fast.
