I tried high magnesium after reading this thread on Reef Frontiers, but it didn't work for me. I switched to basting with boiling RO/DI water and achieved total eradication. Works on bubble algae too

Did you take the rock out and bast it in another tank? or did you do it in tank?

I just did it in the tank. I used oyster shells as guards to protect nearby corals from the heat. Any algae turns white within a day after treatment, and my fish seem to like their veggies boiled
