Default Emigrating To Canada And Need A Tank Builder

Hi

I move out to canada from the Uk in 5 weeks, moving to ottawa.

I am looking for a tank builder (reputable company) that can build a 6' x 4' x 2.5' in the basement of our home.

Does anyone have any contacts?

best wishes
Michael

They're based out of Toronto, which is not THAT far from Ottawa (it's about a 5 hour drive). But they ship all over the place anyhow.

Contact Derek from www.MiraclesAquarium.com. He will not sell to you directly as he is protective of his dealer relationships in Ontario, but, he will work with you to design a custom tank. I have one of his tanks and the work is second to none. Anything you get from Ontario will most likely be built in Toronto.

Default Tank builders

You may get a few more replies out of this website, www.AquariumPros.ca, it is similar to this website and very much Ontario based. And welcome to Canada, happy reefing.

If you drive like a Grandma. LOL It's only 3.5 to 4 hours. Three if you put the hammer down!

Only time I ever did the drive was in a '71 Bug on our way to the veedub show, about 10 or so years ago now. So I guess my memory's a bit off about how long it took. (To me, shoved in the back seat, it felt pretty long enough!!)

Yeah, ... I almost forgot how you Ontario-ians drive. I've been all over the world and seen some crazy driving, but the closest I've ever come to .. you know .. actually dieing ... was outside Ottawa. (Twice. In about 5 minutes. Apparently when people cross the double-line to pass about 20 cars in a row, it is completely acceptable to run the traffic in the oncoming direction clear off the road rather than dart back into your own lane. Their own darn fault for not staying home, darn it!! )

Guess I digress. My only point was that it's not really THAT far from Ottawa to Toronto. Long enough that you don't go there to pick up a quart of milk, but not so long that you wouldn't just go every once in a while.

You guys have it easy.
I am from Eastern Europe and driving here is sooo easy compare to back there I can drive backwards in Canada.
Passing for me is always coming out on to the incoming traffic lanes. If you have two lanes this is luxury.
Try to get two cars, semi trailer, bus and the train in to 3 lane traffic that is what I call city driving. LOL

Not counting open man holes. We even have special maneuver in driving schools teaching how to get your car over the open manhole.
Goes like this: for example you see an open manhole on the passenger’s side. Your both hands are on the wheel of course, 9 and 3 o’clock.

• Short sharp turn of the steering wheel with your left hand from 9 o’clock to 6 o’clock and then up to 12 o’clock and back to original straight position (9 and 3).
• This will throw you car slightly off center and back allowing to “elevate” or take a load off of your drivers side for very short time.
• You need to have at least 40-50km/hr for this to be effective
For those who don’t know there are two cowers on the manhole; first very heavy one on top and second light steel about 6” inches below, so you car will go over it regardless, but if you just go slow and straight your suspension will take a heavy hit. heavy covers are often stolen for metal scrap.

Hope you enjoyed this.
Do not try this when you are on your Driving Test LOL.
