well replacing probably wont be worth it since all three viewing panes have small surface scratches (kind of visible with no water in the tank, dont know if its visible when there is water in the tank). That cerium oxide sounds like good idea. I just want to make sure I dont make more scratches.

Basically what it does is "grind" off a very thin layer of the glass but since the "Grit" is almost microscopic it leaves a perfect finish

Hey Marcingo, I just picked some up at the Rock Hound shop in Victoria ,so you should be able to get it at place that sells tumbling supplies .
They will sell small 2ounce packs for $ 1.55 or pretty nearly any amount you want.
I am going to try it for removing hardwater marks from a tank ,nothingelse seems to move it . Sounds like a good tip.

Unforetunately Im in edmonton (quite a drive) what kind of store is this? Might give me an idea of where to look locally.
