The only reason we use RO out here is to remove the turbidity from the water. After a good rain the water can take on a brown appearance, which just isn't removed with the standard 1 micron filters.

I don't have a reef tank yet. Will I need RO system no matter what? Where I live (N. Delta) the TDS meter reads ~10 ppm.

Been awhile since I measured the tap so won't try to remember but I'm amazed with those single digit readings. It's almost as low I get with a ro/di unit.
