Sump Design

Ok,

I'm still fairly happy with version 2, with one major exception. I don't like the intake set-up. I'm not sure why I don't like it, nobody on this board or others have commented negatively (or positively for that matter) on it, it just bugs me.

Can anyone offer any reassurance that it's ok, or suggestions on how to improve it??

I'm hoping to buy the glass tommorow so I can build this on the weekend! Thanks for all the help so far and don't quit responding!!!!

I would probably leave the first baffle the height you had it orginally. Why the concern about calm water on the skimmer intake?

The owners manual mentions that the skimmer performs best in calmer waters. It's a tunze 9010

The baffle bugging me btw is the 6" high one dividing the first compartment into an intake section and a skimmer section. I just reread and I don't think I was very clear.
